Achieve’s Director of Clinical Education is Robert Johnson PT, MS, OCS. He is recognized nationally and internationally as an expert in Orthopedic Manual Therapy and Clinical Education.

We try to offer a variety of clinically relevant continuing education seminars for the motivated, practicing clinician. Courses provided by Achieve are instantly applicable in clinical settings and offer a variety of manual therapy examination and treatment options for the current managed care and evidence-based environment from highly skilled hands-on mobilization to functional programs and patient education ideas.

Educational Affiliations

OMPT, Inc. - Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy is the name of the first ‘long-term’ continuing education seminar to be held here in the Chicago metro area. It was established by Robert Johnson PT, MS, OCS in 1993 and has been held yearly since that time, now in its 13th consecutive year. The long-term OMPT course has trained well over 150 Chicagoland therapists since it was initiated. Mr. Johnson taught the entire OMPT course in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (2003-2004) to 50 middle eastern colleagues as well. For more information on the upcoming OMPT seminar click here.
NOI – Neuro Orthopedic Institute. USA and David Butler are well known for educating therapists in the principles and practice of Neurodynamics and Movement Dysfunction of the Nervous System. Robert Johnson PT, MS, OCS is one of four U.S instructors designated by NOI to teach Mobilisation of the Nervous System and Clinical Applications of the Upper/Lower Extremities. Education Format

Long Term (10 months) and Short Term (1-3 days) formats are offered for a variety of topics. Most courses are intermediate level and include didactic and practical instruction. Seminars may include lecture, discussions, role-playing, case studies, patient presentation and hands-on demonstration / practice. Seminars are typically held at our downtown (Loop) office located at 100 E. Walton, Suite 700, Chicago, IL 60611.

Participant Qualifications

Our courses are principally designed for physical therapists and physical therapy assistants in the study and practice of orthopedic manual physical therapy. Other health professionals may be eligible for participation in basic level or specialty courses if approved by the designated course instructor.

Course content is not intended for use by participants outside the scope of their license or regulation. Furthermore, subsequent use of this education is physical therapy only when performed by a physical therapist, in accordance with APTA policies, positions, guidelines, and ethical principles and standards. Attendees must present a copy of their physical therapy license when attending a course.
